Crown & Thistle Wedding, Marie & Oliver
Last Month I was in my home town of Abingdon for Marie and Oliver’s Crown and Thistle Wedding.
You may remember Marie & Oliver from a previous post, where we met up before the wedding in Abingdon to take their pre wedding photos. You can see that post Here if you would like to take a peek.
Marie and Oliver booked me after seeing some of the other weddings i’d shot at The Crown and Thistle in Abingdon. I remember the telephone conversation I had with Marie, where she told me about the intimate wedding they were planning at this fabulous little pub in the centre of town.
There really is something to be said for weddings where only the closest of friends and family are part of your special day. I absolutely love small intimate weddings and i’m always pleased when i’m chosen to do them. Thats not to say I don’t enjoy large weddings too, theres just something really cosy about a small collection of loved ones getting together to celebrate your special day.
Because the intimate nature of Marie and Oliver’s I photographed it on my own. I started the day by going to see Oliver, his brother and nephew as they got ready.
It was then off to see Marie in another of The Crown and Thistle’s fabulous rooms. Preparations were in full swing and the Prosecco was flowing.
The ceremony was held in The Barn, which is a lovely little barn connected to the pub.
After a beautiful ceremony, it was out into the courtyard for a confetti run. I wouldn’t be surprised if Marie and Oliver weren’t still finding bits of confetti, there was that much of it.
Lots of laughter and drinks were had in the courtyard, followed by the wedding breakfast in the barn.
After some great speeches it was time to cut the cake and dance the night away.
I had so much fun capturing all the great moments during this wedding,.
It really was an amazing day. Smashing people and lovely weather.
