Oxfordshire Garden Wedding, Gemma & Pete’s Garden Wedding
Last month I was in a pretty little village near Thame to photography an Oxfordshire garden wedding for the lovely Gemma and Pete.
You may remember Gemma & Pete from a previous post, where we met up before the wedding in Richmond to take some engagement photos. You can see that post Here.
I first met Gemma and Pete in a little pub in Thame to discuss potentially being their wedding photographer. The wedding sounded amazing and I was so pleased when after lots of chatter and a few coffees, they decided they would love me to be their wedding photographer.
I love being an Oxford wedding photographer, it gives me the chance to photograph fabulous weddings all over the county.
It’s always interesting when a wedding isn’t in one of the many venues and the couple have opted to do something different.
Gemma and the bridesmaids started the day getting ready in Her family home. Which was also going to host the wedding reception later on.
I had previously met up with Gemma at the house to have a look around and go scout out some portrait locations. I was amazed at the transformation that had taken place since my last visit. The attention to detail was stunning.
Pete and the guys were getting ready in a pub a few miles away and after a few drinks headed off to the church in an old Land Rover, decorated in ribbons.
Once Gemma and everyone were ready, it was time to make the short walk down the drive and through the village to the family church.
Lots of the residents of the village, who had probably watched Gemma grow up, had turned out to see her walk to the church. It was so lovely!
After a beautiful ceremony filled with love and laughter, it was on to a confetti run outside the church and a quick escape into the countryside for some portraits.
I must say at this point, that Gemma and Pete had the coolest church escape car ever. They had on loan from Gemma’s dad, his prized classic convertible E-type Jag. Wow what a beautiful car.
We arrived back to a drinks reception in the garden with garden games and a photobooth fashioned from a horsebox.
The wedding breakfast was hosted in the garden in a fabulously decorated marquee.
After some great speeches it was time to cut the cake and dance the night away.
It really was an amazing day. Super unique, Smashing people, and lovely weather. The perfect day.
