Abingdon Tipi Wedding, Lizzie & Rich

Wow its really been a busy year and i'm finally getting round to writing a few posts about all the fabulous weddings I've been involved in this year.Like Lizzie and Rich's Abingdon Tipi Wedding back in September. This really was a bobby dazzler of a wedding and right on my doorstep too.Rich is the Abingdon Lock keeper, so a bit of a local celebrity, and I remember sitting in the Lock keepers cottage chatting with Lizzie and Rich about their wedding.  This was during my initial pitch and before they had booked me.  They were telling me about all the amazing details they were planning and i'm sitting there thinking, this wedding sounds awesome.Obviously, I got the wedding because i'm now sharing it, but I was pleased as punch when they booked and said they would love me to photograph their wedding.See I love all weddings, but I love different weddings even more. The day started with me making the short drive from my house in Abingdon to a field behind the lock keepers house.  In this field was a beautifully decorated Tipi.  I took a ton of detail shots before heading to the Lock keepers house where Lizzie and her bridesmaids were getting ready.Rich was getting ready in a friends house in Abingdon before heading to The Old Anchor pub St Helens Wharf. Before long Lizzie and her bridesmaids were ready and after a few portraits it was time to head to St Helens church for the ceremony.Lizzie's dad appears in a really cool boiler suit, like he's just stepped off the set of dads army.  He really looked the part and we all squeezed into an old Landrover to make our way to the church. After a beautiful ceremony, Lizzie, Rich and myself took a chauffeur driven cruise down the Thames in a boat, before making our way to Abingdon lock.  As the waters rose in the lock, the guests showered Lizzie and Rich with confetti.Everyone then made their way to the Tipi to celebrate and dance the night away. This was an amazing wedding to be involved in.  It had everything, laughter, tears and a super bunch of people who were well up for celebrating this amazing couples marriage. I love my job and weddings like this just make me love it even more!If you enjoyed looking at these photos and are planning a wedding, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to drop me a message.

We cannot thank Lee enough for capturing our day so beautifully! From the moment we discovered him online we knew he was perfect for us and the style of our big day.Communication with him was great. He was very quick to respond to our enquiry and visited us in person to talk about his style and what we wanted. We received a highlights slideshow very quickly after our wedding day and our full album was soon to follow. Our engagement shoot was really relaxed and it gave us a chance to get to know each other and find out how we would behave in front of the camera. Lee is a good laugh and not at all pushy which helped to put us at ease.On the day both he and his assistant were chilled and friendly yet always professional. They weren’t intrusive at all - our guests barely noticed them - yet they managed to capture some absolutely amazing shots! Lee was more than happy to accommodate our crazy photo ideas and the results are just incredible. We will treasure them forever, as will our family and friends! We can’t recommend Lee highly enough! He is exceptionally talented and a genuinely nice guy which makes for awesome wedding photos! We wish him the very best! xxxx Lizzie & Rich.
