Lains Barn Wedding Photographer, Zoe & Chris
I love being a Lains Barn Wedding photographer. It is such a lovely barn venue, I always look forward to photographing a wedding there. I was so pleased when Zoe and Chris asked me to be their wedding photographer, though due to the pandemic the wedding was split into two halves. Part one in 2021, which was the prep, ceremony and speeches. Part two in early 2022 which was the party. Not your usual wedding, but it worked out fabulously.
Here's what Zoe had to say about their wedding
What was your favourite part of the wedding? We both really enjoy having a good old boogie so we both enjoyed dancing the night away with all our friends. It was also so good to have so many of our loved ones all in the same room, after so long!
Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.We had a mental M (for Marshall) as our guest book that people signed which was a bit different. I wore my dads, who passed away when I was 14, pink doc martins as they were his favourite shoes and I even have them tattooed on me. This was very special for me as they made me feel like he was still walking me down the isle. Our cake was made of cheese - we love cheese! We had a 6” 5 fully grown man as a ‘flower girl’ as all the groomsmen are like family to the both of us.
Why did you choose your venue?Zoe once catered there when she was 16 and was determined to get married there as she loved it even back then. We did look around but we both loved it so much that we couldn’t say no. Also the owner (Martin) went out of his way to make us feel welcome and added any little details and was so flexible and brilliant during the whole pandemic drama.
How did you find using Lee Dann Photography, were there any particular things about my approach that you liked, and how did you feel about the photos once you received them?I can’t actually remember how we found you, that seems like a lifetime ago! It would have been online somewhere though. We really really loved the candid style of photography, neither of us like to pose for photos and find it awkward so this was perfect. We absolutely love the photos and we love how you captured the mood and ‘feel’ to the whole day.
If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process?Plan for a global pandemic! 😂 no I would probably say it goes by so quickly so enjoy every second of it.

Zoe and Chris were married in St Michael and all the angels church in Abingdon. A lovely church that sits next to Albert park, where we headed after the ceremony to have drinks and take some group shots. It was then onto Lains Barn for the drinks reception, meal and the speeches. Before I left, Zoe, Chris and I went for a walk to take some natural photos in the beautiful grounds surround the venue. The following year saw everyone back at Lains Barn for some more speeches, food and a ruddy good knees up.
Wedding Photography at Lains Barn
I have photographed many weddings in fine venues all over the UK. Apart from Zoe having a desire to get married there after working at the barn, I can see why Zoe & Chris chose to get married at Lains Barn. The photo opportunities are endless and it is a dream venue for a photographer, with so many fantastic options available.I really loved working with Zoe & Chris, It was such an intimate, heartwarming day.I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.
